Neruda Bagel

English text see at the bottom.

  • 2 Bagels
  • 2 Büschel Rucola
  • 6 Scheiben Taleggio

It is forbidden

Pablo Neruda

It is forbidden to cry without learning,
to get up in the morning not knowing what to do,
to be afraid of your memories.

It is forbidden not to smile at your problems,
not to struggle for what you want,
to abandon everything for fear
not to turn your dreams into reality.

It is forbidden not to demonstrate your love
to make someone pay for your doubts and ill moods.

It is forbidden to give up on your friends,
not to to try to understand what you’ve lived together,
to call them only when you need to.

It is forbidden not to be yourself in front of people,
to be false in front of the people that don’t matter,
to be funny so they will remember you,
to forget about all the people who love you.

It is forbidden not to make things by yourself,
not to believe in God and forge your fate,
to be afraid of life and it’s entanglements,
not to live each day like a final sigh.

It is forbidden to miss someone without being glad,
to forget their eyes, their laugh, everything,
because your paths have quit embracing each other,
forgetting the past and satisfying it with the present.

It is forbidden not to try to understand,
to think that their life is worth more than yours,
not to know that everyone has their own path and their own fortune.

It is forbidden not to create your own story,
not to give thanks to God for your life,
not to have time for the people who need you,
not to understand that what life gives,
it can also take away.

It is forbidden not to search for your happiness.
not to live with a positive attitude,
not to think that we can be better,
not to feel that without you this world wouldn’t be the same.

English Text:

The summer holidays are over and with them three lovely weeks in Sardinia. I have experienced and seen beautiful as well as eaten fabulously. And I had time to look at the events of the last few months by far.

The difficulty of challenges in everyday life are probably due to the leck of time in not reflecting on it. It requires time to take distance and to realize that there are more important things in life. Self-reflection and prioritization are two goals you should never forget about it.

Following this there is a very beautiful poem by Pablo Neruda, which I have placed at the end of this post.

And so this summer vacation ends here and is also a new beginning. I'm going to try to stay calm and openminded. Starting school for my little man may seem at first glance something completely normal. But to put him,  a visually impaired child, in a "normal" school is the most difficult things happening to me lately (and the fate has given me so far already much good stuff on substance).

Good starts into the day are therefore an important prerequisite to positively confront new challenges. So let's have a good breakfast! And if you prepare the this to loved one, this represents a small declaration of love. Try it :) ...

Ingredients for 2 people
Preparation time 10 minutes

  • 2 bagels
  • 2 bunches arugula
  • 6 slices of Taleggio
  • 2 fresh figs
  • 2 eggs
  • some olive oil
  • Pepper, paprika and salt
Put the bagels in the toaster. Meanwhile, in a nonstick pan, heat the oil and fry the eggs - better in an egg ring.

Then prove the Bagel:
  • Bagel bottom
  • put the arugula on it
  • add on each 3 Taleggio cheese slices
  • add on each 1 fresh fig, sliced
  • pepper
  • Season the egg with paprika and salt
  • put it on the Bagel
  • fix the top with a wooden skewer
And ready is the Neruda Bagel! To enjoy with the poem on the top...
